The Edmonton Oilers are facing yet another injury as this time defenseman Brett Kulak has gone down and left today's game with a head injury. He suffered the injury after taking a puck to the head.
The Edmonton Oilers played the Minnesota Wild this afternoon. During the game Oilers defenseman Brett Kulak was on the ice in his own zone. The Wild ended up taking a shot that would strike Brett Kulak in the head. Brett Kulak would finish his shift but eventually head to the locker room.

Unfortunately for himself and the Oilers Brett Kulak was unable to return to the game.
Desharnais led all Oilers in TOI with 8:19 and picks up an assist in the first period. Brett Kulak only played one shift and hasn't returned after getting hit in head/helmet by the puck. Oilers down to five D-men.
After the game Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch gave an update on Brett Kulak's status and luckily it is a positive one.

During his post-game press conference, Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch was asked about how Brett Kulak was doing. According to the Oilers bench boss, Brett Kulak is doing well and things are not as bad as initially feared.
Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch said Brett Kulak appears to be OK but will be re-evaluated later today & tomorrow. Kulak will join the team on their upcoming two-game road trip, he added.
Kulak was hit in head with a puck in his first shift and was limited to 49 seconds of ice time.
Despite the unfortunate incident from today's game the availability and health of Brett Kulak for the playoffs is most important. It sounds as though he will be good to go by then and be able to try and help this Edmonton Oilers group finally lift the Stanley Cup.
