The Edmonton Oilers listed scouts have appeared in many games this season, but we finally know why they have been scouting the Philadelphia Flyers as of late with numerous scouts in attendance. Elliotte Friedman spills the beans on who the Oilers may be targeting.

Oilers interested in Flyers defenceman

The Edmonton Oilers are interested in adding defence ahead of the trade deadline. More specifically Flyers defenceman Sean Walker. Walker was acquired from LA Kings this summer as a "cap dump", but has completely turned things around with the Flyers, even potentially netting them a potential first round pick for him, well that is what GM Dan Briere wants for the defender. Hence why the Oilers scouts were in attendance at last night's Flyers game vs the Florida Panthers
Elliotte Friedman writes that the Oilers and Lightning are two teams that are interested in Sean Walker. The Oilers scouted the Flyers last night in Florida FWIW.

Many defenceman to chose from for the Oilers

Many defenceman will be available from now until March 8th. Players on teams who won't be making the playoffs. Some players who can be available for the Oil will be Noah Hanifin, his partner Chris Tanev, David Savard, Johnathan Kovacevic,
Joel Edmundson, etc. The most exciting names on the list are Hanifin and Tanev, but Sean Walker would be a great consolation prize and would fit nicely into their top 4.
More details to come.
