Fans Roast Oilers after blowing 4-1 lead

The Edmonton Oilers turned a 4-1 lead into a 5-4 loss in the opener of their second round series.

The Edmonton Oilers had a solid start in Game 1 against the Vancouver Canucks, grabbing a 4-1 lead by the second period. Yet Just when you thought it was smooth sailing, the game took a wild turn. The Canucks clawed their way back, scoring two goals in the third period to tie the game, then scoring 39 seconds after they tied it to take a 5-4 lead,

Understandably, Oilers fans took to Twitter to vent their frustrations and give the team a good roasting. Tough night for the Oilers, indeed.

Even former Oiler Ryan Whitney spoke up.
You'd rather lose 10-0 than that. No explanation for what just happened. Completely stopped skating and making plays. Guys falling over everywhere. Skinner sucking goals in. They thought it was over. Van was much better team. Just gotta shake it off and get a split on Friday.
He was even more irate about the fact Edmonton went 23 straight minutes without a shot down stretch, including Connor McDavid who was held shotless for the first time in his career.

What made this even worse for him was that earlier in the week, he tore the Canucks fanbase apart on his podcast Spitting Chiclets.
Round 1 went to the Vancouver mayor who made a bet with the Edmonton mayor.
