This afternoon news has come out regarding the injury that led Leon Draisaitl to miss the end of Game 1. Sources have indicated his status for Game 2 is now in doubt.
As the Edmonton Oilers Game 2 against the Vancouver Canucks draws closer we are receiving updates on potential injuries. According to head coach Kris Knoblauch, Leon Draisaitl will be a game time decision.
Leon Draisaitl is a game-time decision for Game 2 on Friday.
He played 16:43 in Game 1, and missed part of the game due to cramping, according to Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch.
While he says it will be a game time decision he also admits it will take a lot to keep the Oilers superstar out of the lineup. On top of Leon Draisaitl, Adam Henrique could also potentially miss tonight's game.
Kris Knoblauch said Leon Draisaitl & Adam Henrique are game-time decisions. Both are expected to take warmups.
Draisaitl said it will take «a lot» to keep him out.
«Obviously, it's an important time of year. We all want to be out there and be playing.»
If either player ends up missing tonight's game the option to come into the lineup will likely be Sam Carrick according to Kris Knoblauch.
Knoblauch said Sam Carrick will also take warmups and be on standby if both players can't play.
As warmups approach all eyes will be on Leon Draisaitl to see if he takes the ice. If he cannot go tonight the Edmonton Oilers will need big performances from their depth forwards to help fill the gap.
