Edmonton Oilers fans are apparently an aggressive bunch as fights keep breaking out between fans during outdoor watch parties during the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs

You have to wonder how much longer this will go on before police and city officials decide to just cancel them altogether. For the third 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs game in a row, Edmonton Oilers fans have broken out into fights and aggressive conflicts while watching their team take on the LA Kings.
X account YEGWAVE has been posting videos since the first round series between the Oilers and Kings began, usually sent in by party attendees who recorded the action. Despite the Oilers winning 6-2 in last night's game, tensions boiled over at the outdoor watch party in Edmonton, with at least three incidents.
As mentioned, these aren't the first videos posted by YEGWAVE that feature violent clashes between fans. Oilers outdoor viewing parties are being planned and attended whether the team is playing at home or not.
Earlier this week, the Mayor of Vancouver announced the continued cancellation of outdoor viewing parties while the Canucks are in the playoffs. Vancouver had riots in 2014 and 1994, both connected to the Canucks losing in the Stanley Cup Final.
If Oilers fans aren't more careful, they are going to suffer the same fate as officials shut down outdoor Oilers gathering due to safety concerns and the costs associated with a potential large outbreak of violence.
The Edmonton Oilers and LA Kings will meet for game 4 or their series Sunday night in California. Edmonton's 6-1 win in game 3 gave the team a 2-1 lead in the opening series of the playoffs. There has been a ton of scoring in the series so far, with the Oilers outscoring the Kings 17-10.
