Matt Rempe is no stranger to meetings with the department of Player Safety. His young career with the New York Rangers has given him a reputation.

Having spent more time in the penalty box than on the ice in the regular season, Matt Rempe has improved his game for the playoffs, having scored a goal in the team's first game of their series against the Washington Capitals, and having been a physical threat consistently.
He may have taken things too far tonight, however, as a massive hit on the Capitals' Trevor Van Riemsdyk may lead to supplemental discipline.
About halfway through the first period, Rempe chased Van Riemsdyk and threw a massive hit right into the boards. Multiple angles have emerged suggesting that there may have been impact with Van Riemsdyk's head.

Considering Trevor Van Riemsdyk was forced to leave the game injured, Matt Rempe's defense isn't strong. He may be watching the next few games from the press box.
