Connor McDavid is well on his way to becoming one of, if not the greatest NHL player of all time, but it hasn't stopped ESPN from some ridiculous disrespect.

Recently, ESPN decided to release their list of the Top 100 Players in Sports of the 21st century (just 24 years into the century) based on over 70,000 votes, and unsurprisingly, NHL players have been disrespected. The list began with players 100-76, and already fans noticed an issue as McDavid was ranked 98th, despite significant accomplishments already.
Unsurprisingly, NHL fans were quick to react, showing their disapproval with the move from ESPN.
ESPN haven't completely disrespected the NHL however, as Alex Ovechkin comes in at No. 54, with the expectation that Sidney Crosby will find himself much higher on the list than both. While McDavid hasn't won a Stanley Cup yet, his production has been ridiculous, posting 982 points in just 645 games, putting him on pace to arguably pass everyone in league history.
On top of that, he has won the Art Ross Trophy five times and the Hart Trophy three times despite being just 27-years of age, and if he keeps up this pace, it's safe to say that he'll be much higher on a list in 20 years time.
