Amazon's new show 'Faceoff: Inside the NHL' premiers on October 4th, and after a teaser trailer revealed so much intriguing content, we've now seen some more moments from that. The most anticipated of all was Connor McDavid's impassioned speech to his teammates during the Stanley Cup Finals, and now, the entire video has been released, and it's as fantastic as fans could have hoped for.
In the 60 second clip, the Oilers captain dropped many, many more 'f-bombs' in a tirade that was aimed to inspire his team as they were on the brink of elimination. The speech came after the team went down 0-2 in Florida against the Panthers, and while the team ultimately came out and lost the first game at home, they would then dominate in three straight games, taking the series back to seven games in Florida.
Ultimately, the team would eventually fall as the Panthers won their first ever Stanley Cup, but this moment has showed fans just how serious Connor McDavid is as captain of his team, and while that was largely assumed, seeing it in person was a fantastic insight into the NHL. McDavid would do his part all season long, winning the Conn Smythe and dragging his team to the Stanley Cup Finals, but in the end, his passion could only take them so far, even with many attempts to fire up his team like this.
The latest video is just one of many reasons why fans are so excited to watch Faceoff: Inside the NHL, and for Oilers fans especially, it may be hard to watch the final few episodes, but it will give an intriguing, never-before-seen view of their passionate captain.
