Stuart Skinner Proves Doubters wrong with heroic Game 6 performance

Tonight's hero in Edmonton was stunningly goaltender Stuart Skinner! Thanks to his stellar 34 save performance, the Edmonton Oilers are headed to the Stanley Cup Finals.
In Sunday's thrilling Game 6 against the Dallas Stars, Skinner stood tall between the pipes, allowing just one goal on a whopping 35 shots. Talk about clutch! Despite the Oilers only managing to score twice on their own 10 shots, Skinner's outstanding play ensured they clinched the victory when it mattered most.
Finishing the series with a remarkable 2.19 goals saved above expected, Skinner truly outshone his counterpart, Jake Oettinger, who posted a 1.48. With an impressive 11-5 record, a 2.50 goals-against average, and a .897 save percentage across 16 playoff appearances, Skinner has solidified himself as an elite goaltender which is something Connor McDavid knew all along.
Everybody's buying in. Everybody's doing a lot of good things, and we're getting goaltending. It wasn't the prettiest of closeouts tonight, but Stu closed it off, our back end blocked so many shots. I think he learned a lot from last year's playoffs, and he's putting it to good use. A lot of people doubt him, a lot of people say things about him. He's an elite goaltender, he really is. He was so good for us the whole series. He gave us a chance every single night. Tonight, he absolutely stole one for us, really can't say enough good things about him.
As the Oilers gear up to face off against the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Finals, Skinner will be the man guarding the net come Game 1 on Saturday. With his confidence soaring and his skills on full display, Edmonton fans have every reason to believe that Skinner will continue to be their playoff hero as they chase hockey's ultimate prize.
