A back to back 30-goal scorer has found himself on the trade block after his team has struggled with the cap.
Reinhart's Situation
After being considered a bust for years, Sam Reinhart turned things around and broke out. In 2021-22, he had a point per game year where he scored 33 goals and 82 points in 78 games.
Last year he regressed a tad but still managed to score 31 goals and 67 points. However it should be noted that most of the Florida Panthers regressed statistically.
Reinhart is currently entering the final year of his contract and will make $6.5 million which is quite expensive.
Reinhart Hits The Trade Block
The Panthers have already had to move some cap out and did so by trading Anthony Duclair. However, even with this move, the Panthers are still nearly $2 million over the cap.
That has led to rumors that Reinhart and his $6.5 million cap hit has hit the trade block.
At only 27, Reinhart is a solid option for any team in their championship window and we could realistically see him moved out for primarily picks and prospects.
