The Florida Panthers have made star player Matthew Tkachuk a late scratch as the team gets ready to take on the Montreal Canadiens tonight.

The official reason is listed for Matthew Tkachuk not dressing tonight for the Florida Panthers is illness.
"Updates from Coach Maurice ahead of tonight's game in Montreal:

Carter Verhaeghe (week to week) will not play tonight
Matthew Tkachuk (illness) will not play
Nick Cousins, Kyle Okposo, & Steven Lorentz draw in
Anthony Stolarz starts"
Matthew Tkachuk did play in last night's game between the Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs. Tkachuk had an assist and almost 20 minutes of ice time as the Florida Panthers comeback effort fell short, and Toronto won 6-4.
"Carter Verhaeghe and Matthew Tkachuk out for Panthers tonight.
Verhaeghe is week to week, team confident will be ready for playoffs. Tkachuk is ill. #FlaPanthers at Montreal tonight, TV @BallySportsFL"
As for the Maple Leafs, there was a recent update on the status of Mitch Marner as he was placed on LTIR
