Just when it looked like the Los Angeles Kings were on their way to a solid win, everything fell apart at the seams as the team gave up a 3-1 lead to the Buffalo Sabres after the first period to lose 5-3. Following the game, it was clear frustration was setting in for the Kings.

Drew Doughty Goes off on Teammates Following Loss to Buffalo

In the Kings dressing room after the game, veteran defenceman and LA's alternate captain Drew Doughty went off on teammates who he feels are more concerned about themselves then they are about winning games. His comments seemed directed at young star Pierre-Luc Dubois.
"We got guys in this room too worried about themselves and worried about their points."

Doughty wasn't done there, stating some players are way too concerned with their own stats than anything else.
"We got a 3-1 lead tonight and guys start thinking it's a cookie night and stop playing the way we know how to play."
Doughty also indicated that he's brought this up in the room several times this season and it doesn't appear to be getting through.

Pierre-Luc Dubois Gets Called out by Kings Veteran

LA Kings head coach Todd McLellan, whose seat likely feels extra hot at the moment considering the expectations that were laid out for the team at the beginning of the season, was also frustrated by the loss. He said the main issue was stupidity.
"The stupidity that went into this loss is beyond explainable."

He added that the blame can't be placed on players like Doughty and Anze Kopitar just because they have letters on their jerseys and are locker room leaders. McClellan made it clear that younger players like Dubois must step up and start contributing.
