Dean Evason Fired as Head Coach in Minnesota
With the Minnesota Wild being second last in the Central Division, Gm Bill Guerin has announced that Dean Evason is out as coach. Assistant coach Bob Wood has also been fired.
"Dean did an excellent job during his tenure with the Minnesota Wild, especially as Head Coach of our team. I am very thankful for his hard work and dedication to our organization." - Bill Guerin
The Wild have gone 5-10-4 in 19 games this season. They are two points ahead of the last place Chicago Blackhawks in the Central Division. That said, the Blackhawks actually have more win than the Wild. This isn't the start anyone expected for the team, especially Guerin, who felt he had a contender.
