Last night Marc-Andre Fleury was front and center in the NHL news cycle. He decided to wear a helment celebrating Native American Heritage in honor of his wife. He did this despite being forbidden to by the NHL.

Last night after the announcement was made that Fleury would be fined if he wore the mask NHL legend Roberto Luongo spoke out. He called out the NHL for their ridiculous application of rules.

Luongo echoes the thoughts of many in the hockey community. Every other league allows and encourages players to support causes they believe in. The NHL tries to silence players from supporting causes and it is getting ridiculous.
