Ryan Hartman left fans surprised and disappointed after his unsportsmanlike conduct near the end of Saturday night's game between the Minnesota Wild and Las Vegas Golden Knights.

Jonathan Marchessault had just taken the victory for Vegas in overtime, which seemed to be the tipping point for this Minnesota forward. After yelling some rude comments at officials, Ryan Hartman made the inappropriate decision to throw his stick toward a referee, earning him a three-game suspension.
"Here is the video of #mnwild Ryan Hartman throwing his stick toward the officials on Saturday night, which earned him a three game suspension for unsportsmanlike conduct.

@NHLPlayerSafety said Hartman was also inappropriately verbally berating officials."
A Department of Player Safety representative discussed Hartman's suspension in a recent interview. In this, he explained the reasoning behind the final decision and the player's regret of his actions.
"The game is over and Hartman is off the bench and into the tunnel when he chooses to return to the bench area and launch his stick onto the ice, in the direction of the officials and players from both teams. While we acknowledge Hartman's argument that he was not trying to hurt or hit anyone with his stick, Hartman himself acknowledges his actions are unprofessional, unacceptable and will not be tolerated."

With his stunt against Winnipeg's Cole Perfetti and now this, Ryan Hartman is now considered a repeat offender. He will be out of the Wild's lineup for this week's home games against the Ottowa Senators, Colorado Avalanche, and Winnipeg Jets. This will ultimately result in a forfeit of over $60,000.
"SUSPENDED: Minnesota Wild RW Ryan Hartman has been suspended three-games for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The incident occurred at 3:30 of overtime on Saturday night. Hartman will forfeit $62,195.13."
Hartman's next game is set to be on Monday against the Chicago Blackhawks. Hopefully by then he has learned to clean up his act.
