The New York Islanders are a team worth watching in the league. They have nine players signed on for the long term, but haven't had much success recently.
After making it to the conference finals two times in a row, the Islanders haven't been doing as well. The General Manager, Lou Lamoriello, seems dedicated to keeping the team together.
He's given long contracts to players like Pierre Engvall and Scott Mayfield, even though they're not the top stars. However, the Head Coach, Lane Lambert, might not be as committed.
Questions about Lambert

Lambert took over after the great Barry Trotz, but he hasn't done as well as expected. He might even be let go early in the upcoming season.
We'll have to see what the Islanders choose to do but knowing Lou Lamoriello, it will certainly be drastic
