With the team reeling, the New York Islanders took the huge step of firing their Head Coach mid way through the season, and since taking over, it's become clear that Patrick Roy has already made some big changes.

A new era in New York

After winning their first game under Roy, the team hasn't been as hot as you might expect, but they have looked much better under their new Head Coach, and with time, it appears things will get much better.
According to sources, Roy has already implemented several changes for the Islanders, and while some of them are great, others are certainly questionable, as is this one.
Roy also demands that all players go off together after skates. #Isles

An interesting new rule for the Islanders

While plenty of players enjoy getting their work in after practice on their own, Roy has implemented a rule that all players must leave the ice together after a practice.
The thought is certainly there, as that keeps players together as a team, but for players that we know get individual skills worked on after practice, this one may certainly take some getting used too. Overall, if the team can start winning, all his new rules will be seen as great, but if the team can't turn their 2023-24 season around, there may be some tension over such new rules.
