The New York Rangers were on the brink of facing a Game 7 against the Carolina Hurricanes after dropping the first three games of the series, but Chris Kreider had other plans.

Then, Chris Kreider netted a hat trick in the third period, sealing a 5-3 win for the Rangers and booking their ticket to the Eastern Conference final.
Kreider's performance was legendary he's only the third player in Rangers history to pull off a playoff hat trick in a single period, joining the ranks of Mark Messier and Wayne Gretzky.
And the celebration was wild. Rangers fans at the MSG watch party tossed hats onto the ice, and some even took it a step further, heading over to Kreider's house to deck out his front yard with even more hats. And get this Kreider showed up and started picking them up himself!
Yet the fun didn't stop there. One fan even spotted superstar goaltender Igor Shesterkin by the zoo on the Rangers' day off.
Now, the Hurricanes had a 3-1 solid lead going into the third period, with goals from Martin Necas, Seth Jarvis, and Sebastian Aho. But Kreider had other plans. He snagged a rebound, scored on a power play, and then sealed the deal with a shot from up close, assisted by Ryan Lindgren. And just to top it off, Barclay Goodrow added an empty-netter.
The Rangers are moving on, and who knows what Kreider and the crew have in store for the Eastern Conference final against the reigning East champs, the Florida Panthers. The countdown is onto Game 1 on Wednesday night in MSG.
