Jacob Trouba sanctioned for vicious elbowing
He was lucky to only get a fine and not a suspension after this vicious hit.
Trouba, who has a reputation of landing questionnable hits. We might have seen his worst offense of the playoffs last night, in game three against the Florida Panthers.
NY Rangers' Jacob Trouba has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for elbowing Florida's Evan Rodrigues.
He dangerously hit Rodrigues on the head with his elbow.

Originally, the referees gave him a major penalty, but downgraded it to two minutes after watching the video. However, some people still hope to see him being suspended for what he did.
Jacob Trouba is the Draymond Green of the NHL, only the NHL refs don't have the stones to throw his cheap a** out
How one of the most blatant & intentional elbows of his career (which is saying a lot) isn't a major just doesn't make any sense. What a joke. Dude's a total
Jacob Trouba gets a two-minute penalty for the slash and another two for this egregious elbow.
How was this not a major?
It sure looks like the refs missed the call here. Now, we'll need to see if the Panthers take care of things on their own in the next game. As of now, we have no news to report from the NHL's Deparment of Player Safety, indicating that he shouldn't face consequences for his hit.
