In recent breaking news, Flyers prospect Carson Briere has signed a contract to play professional hockey in Europe next season.

Past Grievances

Carson Briere, son of former NHLer and current Flyers GM Daniel Briere, is known widely for his involvement in the viral "wheelchair" incident, where Briere is seen pushing an empty wheelchair down a flight of stairs.
He has now signed a pro contract with HC 19 Humenné in the Extra Liga, Slovakia.

Road to Redemption

Briere was removed from the Mercyhurst men's hockey team after the incident went viral on social media. At 23 years old, playing professionally in Europe could very well have been one of his only options to continue his hockey career.

Time will only tell whether his road leads to redemption, and ultimately back to a shot at playing in the NHL.
