Matvei Mitchkov gets praise from Philadelphia Flyers head coach John Tortorella
The head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers, John Tortorella, spoke to the press, during a morning practice for the team and had good things to say about forward Matvei Mitchkov, along with the promising future he holds for the club.
Flyers head coach has nothing but praise for the young forward
John Tortorella's comments come as the young forward from Russia is currently dominating in the Russian league the KHL. Tortorella described Mitchkov as "The Mad Russian" and also said that Mitchkov is the future of the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team upon arrival.
John Tortorella is impressed with the young forward and looks forward to coaching him and the rest of the young players on the Flyers team, along with another promising addition in Cutter Gauthier, who was drafted by the Flyers earlier in the 2022 NHL Draft Selection.

Who is Matvei Mitchkov?
Matvei Mitchkov is a Russian-born born hockey player, who was taken 5th overall in the 2023 NHL Draft Selection this past year.
His game is quite similar to that of Alex Ovechkin's and has been compared to the Great 8 many times, because of his goal-scoring prowess. He is a pure goal-scorer, to say the least, and knows how to complement his teammates very well with plays.
