The Calgary Flames picked Zayne Parekh No. 9 overall, and just a few picks later, he had an interesting reaction to the Flyers pick.
The 2024 NHL Draft was full of shocks, starting from the No. 3 overall pick and continuing throughout the weekend, with the shock pick of Beckett Sennecke followed up by the surprise at No. 13 of Jett Luchanko.

The announcement was absolutely electric, but backstage it was a different story, as there has now been a video released of No. 9 pick Zayne Parekh reacting to the pick, as well as a quick comment from Zeev Buium, who the Minnesota Wild traded up one selection to draft ahead of the Flyers.

It's clear from Parekh's mannerisms that he wasn't making fun of the situation or disrespecting Luchanko, but simply shocked that it was the pick, but after a promising development camp, Flyers fans are excited about the move. No one quite knows how a prospect will turn out in the draft, so now all we can do is wait and see which players pan out and which ones inevitably flame out.
