The Blue Jackets traded Emil Bemström to the Pittsburgh Penguins in February for Alex Nylander and a pick with very enticing conditions to the Blue Jackets.

Emil Bemström has played 24 total NHL games for the Pittsburgh Penguins and has collected five points and three goals in that time. In a condition set in the trade that brought him to Pittsburgh it was stated that if Bemström scored six goals the sixth round pick that Pittsburgh in exchange for him would turn into a third. The Penguins are set to play their final game of the season today and all eyes are on Bemström to potentially pot the hat trick to secure his old team a higher round pick.

No luck for Columbus this time around.

Unfortunately for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Emil Bemström will likely not see the ice in the Penguins final game of the season due to a heavy hit he received in their previous game against the Nashville Predators. Bemström was not seen at the Penguins morning skate and it was confirmed by Penguins head coach, Mike Sullivan that he will not be playing in the final game of the season against the New York Islanders.
