The Sharks we caught rooting for two teams and against the USA in two tweets.
San Jose Sharks caught in a social media controversy against Team USA
The San Jose Sharks are known for being a hockey team located in California, one of the 50 states in the USA. However, in a recent controversial tweet, they were caught cheering for Team Germany, who play the USA today.
However, it appears that the Sharks aren't cheering for Germany and the USA. Rather, they are cheering for their players, Nico Sturm and Henry Thrun. Both play for the Sharks and are representing their national teams at the IIHF World Championships.
While they could have worded it slightly better, they stirred up some controversy in the process and made sure they were in the spotlight for some very minor actions.
With the Sharks in the middle of a rebuild, it is difficult for them to stay relevant. Young pieces like William Eklund, Thomas Bordeleau, and the 2023 4th overall pick will help the Sharks transition from a bottom feeder to a contender and hopefully champion.
