Mark Giordano has been in the NHL for two decades now, but the 41-year old has revealed he isn't quite ready to hang up the skates yet.

The NHL has seen several veterans retire over the past 12 months, with many expecting that former Norris Trophy winner and Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano expected to follow soon after. At 41-years of age, there's nothing left for him to accomplish in the NHL beyond a Stanley Cup win, and it appears that motivation will see him play on, as his agent has now revealed that he is looking to continue on for multiple years.
"Mark has made the decision that he's playing for a few more years. He feels very confident. He's been talking to a lot of people who tell him: Don't quit until they make you."
-Gio's agent, Rich Winter
Unfortunately for Giordano, things aren't quite that easy, as the blue liner remains unsigned with the 2024/25 season just two months away, but given his ability to play 46 games this past year, he's shown that he can still contribute at the NHL level. After Toronto brought in Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Chris Tanev this off-season, there's no room for him on the Maple Leafs blue line, but with many teams likely looking for a veteran that can play a depth role and provide leadership, he'll likely find his way onto a roster at some point this season.
