With training camps just around the corner, experts are making their lineup predictions. One notable insider, Chris Johnston, has made an intriguing forecast.
Johnston's Prediction for the Leafs' Top Line
In a recent episode of "The Chris Johnston Show," Johnston discussed the Toronto Maple Leafs' potential first line. Here's what he had to say:
"I think you could see Tyler Bertuzzi, for example, on the Leafs' top line. To me, it makes sense to at least start him alongside Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner on the left side."
The spot next to Matthews and Marner is up for grabs, and many players will be tested during training camp to see if they can complement these stars. Coach Sheldon Keefe may try different combinations, including Matthew Knies, William Nylander, and Max Domi.
Tyler Bertuzzi, a favorite of Johnston, is a strong contender. He's motivated to secure a long-term NHL future and could give it his all to earn a top-line role.
He had a strong playoff performance with the Bruins and if that could carry over to the regular season with the Leafs, then he will likely solidify himself as the Leafs first line left winger.
