Robertson gets vulgar in an interview during training camp. The Leafs prospect is still trying to crack the NHL roster full-time and now he has more competition.

Vulgar Robertson Quote

Nick Robertson still has the passion it takes to be an NHL player. In his latest interview during Leafs training camp, he made that abundantly clear, unafraid of using words typically reserved for less formal situations.
When asked how he felt that his name doesn't carry the same weight it used to, Robertson got straight to the point.
"I Don't Give a F---"

Robertson Still Wants to Prove His Potential Is Real

Robertson has proven to be a point-per-game player at the AHL level so far in his young career but he has not been able to crack the NHL lineup full time. The 22-year-old former 2nd round pick has missed large parts of each of the last two seasons due to injury, having played just 17 games total last season and 28 the year before. When he is fully healthy he could be a legit option for the Leafs this season, assuming he can stay healthy for the full season.

Robertson Faces Steep Competition For Roster Spot

The Leafs are expected to be Stanley Cup contenders once again this year so competition in their forward core will be fierce. The team has brought in veteran forwards like Tyler Bertuzzi, Max Domi, and Ryan Reeves to fill out their forward core. They've also brought in Noah Gregor on a professional tryout, but many think he's a favorite to earn a spot and a proper contract with the team. Furthermore, perhaps the biggest of Robertson's worries, fellow prospect Matthew Knies has seemingly passed him on the depth chart.
Knies came in at the end of last season and seemed to gel with the other Leafs forwards right away. He got into seven playoff games before sustaining an injury in the second round but in those games he managed to record four points, proving he can produce in high-stress situations. Robertson will likely have to outplay at least a couple of these players if he wants to make the team out of camp. All that's left for him now is to play good hockey.
