For the longest time, the premier event to attend in Toronto was a Leaf game. Fans who could get their hands on tickets, let alone season tickets, treated them like gold.
However, this trend is slowly turning. Excitement for a new Leafs' season has quickly turned from something people were avidly awaiting during the summer months, to something people shrugged at. Even with the breaking of the first-round curse, the disappointment of the Leafs' second-round performance has Leaf fans' excitement temperature clocking in at lukewarm.
With her recent announcement, Taylor Swift has Toronto up in arms with excitement for her concert. Not to mention that it isn't until 2024 I might add. Swift has been able to compound success after success with her tour, something the Leafs could take note of.
What's even worse for the Leafs, is that Taylor carries with her the Swift Curse. Teams have notoriously struggled since Taylor performed in their city. If it continues, which most curses do for the Leafs, it won't be pretty for Leaf's hopefuls, as Taylor performs right at the beginning of the season.
