After a fantastic end to the 2023/24 season in Columbus, Alex Nylander now has a new deal with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have a talented forward group, but will be looking to make significant additions to their bottom-six if they are to make a Stanley Cup run in 2023/24. Now, they've made an intriguing signing, as Alex Nylander, the younger brother of William has now inked a deal with the Toronto Marlies, the AHL affiliate of the Maple Leafs.
🖊 News | We've signed forward Alex Nylander to a one-year AHL contract.
The 26-year old started slow in 2023/24 with Pittsburgh, but after being traded to Columbus, he began cashing in on the potential that saw him drafted No. 8 overall way back in the 2016 NHL Draft. In 23 games, Nylander tallied an impressive 11 goals and 16 points, with the momentum heading into the off-season leading many to believe he'd have plenty of interest.
However, it took until almost August to make a deal, and now he'll start next season in the AHL, having to earn his opportunity to get back to the NHL. With the likes of Ryan Reaves expected to be in the Maple Leafs lineup when the 2024/25 season begins however, an impressive start could see Nylander back in the NHL quickly, and if he can pick up where he left off, he could play a key role for this team moving forward.
