Friedman Talks About What the Leafs Are Planning for Goalie Joseph Woll's Return in the NHL

Woll played his first game on Friday night since he injured his ankle a while back. He was playing for the Marlies and did a great job, helping them win 4-1 with a save percentage of .973.
Elliotte Friedman shared the Maple Leafs' plans for Woll during a segment on Hockey Night in Canada.
Here's what he said:
"Joseph Woll. Close? Yes. He played last night for the Toronto Marlies in Laval, and he was very good. 36 of 37 saves.

And not only that, but Laval did not make his night very easy for a player in his first game after a high ankle sprain, Laval made it tough on him. They knew everybody would be watching, and those players sure did their best to get noticed.

And, he was very good. They didn't play him today, but he's very close, and we'll see what Toronto does in goal. They've got a couple days to figure this out. They go with three. Do they go with two? But Woll is close."
Given the current performance of Ilya Samsonov and Martin Jones, the team might end up using three goalies for the rest of the season.
But, Brad Treliving might consider trading one of them since goalies are in high demand right now.
We'll find out soon what's going to happen with Woll, and it's definitely something to keep an eye on.
