Steven Lorentz comes complete with a Stanley Cup win in his back pocket, having won it all with the Florida Panthers last season. But his regular season was quite a bit more subdued, as he played only 38 games and had just three points, with one being a goal. He matched that point total in the playoffs, playing 16 games, and adding two goals. One of those came at a huge moment in Game 3 of the first round against Tampa Bay, where he gave his team a crucial two-goal cushion with just ten minutes left.
A 2015 third-round draft pick of the Carolina Hurricanes, Steven Lorentz has suited up for Carolina, San Jose, and most recently, Florida. In 230 career games, he's amassed 43 points, including 21 goals.
On the cusp of training camp, Steven Lorentz will have the opportunity to compete for that vacant fourth-line spot with the Maple Leafs, but nothing will be given to him. With
Max Domi likely centering the third line and
David Kampf the fourth, Lorentz will need to come out firing if he wants to impress the coaches.
