Clayton Keller leaks Utah HC's team name
Earlier this year, the NHL confirmed that the Arizona Coyotes would cease to exist and move to Utah. This decision came after two seasons of the Arizona Coyotes being the joke of the NHL, as they played in a college-level rink: the Mullett Arena.
Nothing worked for the NHL in Arizona, and they decided to move to Utah, where citizens have been wanting to get an NHL franchise for a while.
Ryan Smith and the Smith Entertainment Group, who also own the Utah Jazz in the NBA, finally brought the NHL to the people of Utah, and he did it for them.
Something else proved how much Smith cares about the community: they asked the people to vote on the team name.
Multiple choices were proposed, and a vote was held to determine the most popular option.
While it was confirmed that no name would be announced this season, and the team will compete under the name Utah Hockey Club, an official name is set to be announced after the season.
However, Utah HC's star Clayton Keller possibly revealed a bit too much information in a recent interview. Indeed, he said that the team will likely be called "Yeti."
"It sounds like it's going to be the Yeti, but I don't know. We'll see what happens. Whatever they choose, I think it'll be a good one."
We'll have to wait a year before seeing Utah Yeti printed on a jersey. Then, we should get to see the logo as well.
