Nikita Zadorov knows how to keep things interesting, both on and off the ice.
During his exit interview with the Vancouver Canucks today, he had some playful banter about his contract status that left everyone chuckling as they break for the Summer.
When asked about his future with the Canucks, he cracked a joke about the rumors circulating in the media.
Do you think I've priced myself out? I don't know where they're getting those numbers. Are they plucking them from the trees? Maybe they've been chatting too much with those Edmonton reporters who think they're negotiating my contract.
It was Classic Zadorov. Always quick with a witty response. yet he wasn't just all jokes. He also had some nice things to say about the Canucks fan base and took shots at Calgary media.
Hockey in Canada is different. I can't compare it to Calgary, but I feel like the Vancouver fan base is way bigger," Zadorov said about the fans. "Calgary isn't even the number one team in Alberta, so it's kind of like obvious there are more Edmonton fans because they have a bigger history.
As for his future with the team, well, that remains to be seen. Zadorov's a free agent, so who knows where he'll end up next season? Yet what we do know is that wherever he goes, he's sure to bring that trademark Zadorov charm with him.
