The Vancouver Canucks are currently down to their backup goalie in Casey DeSmith after Thatcher Demko went down with an injury. Predators forward Michael McCarron tried to take DeSmith out last night with this hit.

The NHL Department of Player Safety just announced that McCarron has been fined for his hit on DeSmith
Nashville's Michael McCarron has been fined $2,000 for goalie interference on Vancouver's Casey DeSmith.
DeSmith was fortunately no worse for wear and was able to backstop the Canucks to a victory going up 2-1 in their series.
