The Vancouver versus Nashville playoff series has been met with several player absences for illness and injury. However, one unlikely former Canuck has said he would come out of retirement to save the team.
With the first round of playoffs underway, the Canucks are being met with several unfortunate player challenges. Vancouver head coach Rick Tocchet announced that Tyler Myers was out of game two for illness and goaltender Thatcher Demko's status remains in question for the foreseeable future.
"Myers, he had the flu today, and he was really under the weather. And then Demmer got evaluated today, he's gonna be probably week to week."
Additionally, the team may be down another star forward. Brock Boeser had to leave their recent practice early after an apparent hit to the wrist.
"Canucks forward Brock Boeser leaving practice early. Appeared to get hit in left hand/wrist area by a shot during a power play drill"
However, an unlikely former Vancouver Canucks goaltender has made a video implying he would come out of retirement to fill in for Thatcher Demko. This player is none other than Eddie Lack, who retired from the league after the 2017-2018 NHL season.
"The hero Vancouver deserves!"
Although it is clear that Lack meant this humorously, followers of Vancouver's team have fully embraced it, showing that this former Canuck still has loyal fans.
The Vancouver Canucks are tied in their first-round playoff series against the Nashville Predators. Both teams will be vying to pull into the lead in their third game this evening at Bridgestone arena.
