The Vancouver Canucks took a huge leap forward last season, and while it was good for the future of the organization and their fans, it now leaves them having to pay several players off of fantastic years. One of those players is forward Brock Boeser, who had a career high 40 goals and 73 points, and although he's eligible for an extension, the team don't appear to be prioritizing that right now.
Not only was Boeser a standout in the regular season, but he posted a point-per-game in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, despite missing the final game against Edmonton due to a blood clot. Now, the team are reportedly waiting to see how he backs it up in 2024/25, and while that could save them a lot of money if he takes a step back, if he takes his game to another level, the 27-year old may price himself out of Vancouver.
It's reported that he'll be back to start the regular season, and given how we've seen players perform in contract years in recent times, it's safe to say that we could be on the lookout for another incredible campaign from Boeser in 2024/25.
