They have both been quiet for a few weeks, but with September coming this week both are looking to upgrade still with a 1/1A keeperLogan Thompson is available, but will cost you. I would do it thoughI think the Knights are nuts for not making this guy their future.
The Golden Knights had a revolving door of goaltenders last season and while Thompson was probably the best one, they have committed to Adin Hill after his monster playoff run.
Potential Trade targets
With the Sabres and the Devils both reportedly being interested, it could become a bidding war between the two teams. Both have plenty of young talent and plenty of established talent so it would likely be the Golden Knights picking what pieces they want exactly.
From the Devils, they could potentially part ways with 2020 7th overall pick, Alexander Holtz. Holtz has yet to completely adjust to the NHL game but still has plenty of potential and could offer a nice kick in the bottom six and eventually the top six.
From the Sabres, they have a plethora of prospects and young players. There are many players the Knights could target but a few names are Jack Quinn, JJ Peterka, Jiri Kulich, and Zach Benson who are all young top forwards who could provide a boost offensively.
While these are all valuable players these respective teams could part ways with, Thompson is a 25-year-old all-star goaltender and those do not grow on trees so getting one via trade will be quite expensive.
