Winnipeg Jets defenseman Tyrel Bauer and Calgary Flames forward Adam Klapka dropped the gloves just one minute and 20 seconds into Wednesday's exhibition game.

History between the pair

There is a history between the two players going back to last season in the AHL. Tyler Bauer was playing for the Manitoba Moose, and Adam Klapka was with the Calgary Wranglers. The two squared off, and Kapla came away the victor then.
This time the six-three defenseman Tyler Bauer took it to the six-eight power forward Adam Klapka. There is obviously still some bad blood between the two, as even after the fight they were jarring at each other, and the game between the two teams was notably hard all night.

Making an impression

Both players are trying to impress the coaching staffs of their respective organizations to make the opening roster, or at least be a call-up later in the season.
Tyrel Bauer was a sixth-round selection for the Winnipeg Jets in 2020 and is much more known for his hard-hitting, stay-at-home style play on the back end. He had spent the last three years since being drafted in the WHL and hopes to make the jump to the NHL.
Adam Klapka was a signing out of the Czech League for the Flames organization in the 2022 off-season. The mammoth six-eight forward spent the last season in the AHL, where he posted 25 points in 60 games and was not afraid to drop the gloves as he recorded 80 penalty minutes as well.
There has not been a lot said about Bauer this pre-season so far, but Adam Klapka has been notable in training camp as well as exhibition play, and not just for his fists.
