A tough break for the Winnipeg Jets as one of the team's forwards will be missing more time as he nurses an injury. David Gustafsson hasn't played since Dec. 22, and he won't be returning this weekend.
Winnipeg's David Gustafsson to Miss More Time Due to Injury
Jets coach Rick Bowness was asked to give an update on Friday, and told reporters Gustafsson needed more time yet.
"We don't expect him to play this weekend." - Rick Bowness
That means Gustafsson missed the entire back-to-back series with the Minnesota Wild. Asked if he had suffered a setback in the process, Bowness said he doesn't believe that's the case.
"No. He skated today earlier and he said it's feeling a little bit better, but it's not to the point where we're comfortable letting him play."
David Gustafsson Needs More Recovery Time
Gustafsson suffered the injury in a game against the Boston Bruins. He is expected to miss at least three more games in total. If it ends there, he can join the team on their upcoming road trip.
