Over that 12-year period, Scheifele has played in 723, tallying an impressive 272 goals and 645 points, all while being a fantastic leader and teammate on a struggling team.
Despite another successful year in 2022-23 with 68 points scored, it appears Scheifele and the Jets are on the way to a split, with the Boston Bruins linked heavily to the 29-year old.
Given their need following the Patrice Bergeron retirement, this was a move that made total sense for both parties, but now with their cap situation uncertain and few assets to play with, the Bruins are now reportedly out on Scheifele.
That comes from Ken Wiebe of Sportsnet, who believes the team want to hold onto their future assets, and with plenty of cap relief coming next summer, expect the Bruins to be more active then than what they are now.
