Jets Top Prospect Suffers Horrific Injury

On November 17th disaster struck when Winnipeg Jets prospect Rutger McGroarty took an awkward fall into the boards. McGroarty looked to be seriously injured and was taken to the hospital after being wheeled out on a stretcher into an ambulance.
McGroarty would spend a few days in the hospital before being released. Since then he has been injured with no timetable for a return. Recently he attended the USA World Junior Championship selection camp. This made many wonder if he was close to returning.
A couple of days ago we finally got our answer on the return of McGroarty and it will be sooner than everyone thought.

McGroarty Defies The Odds To Represent His Country

After the selection camp Rutger McGroarty was named to Team USA for the upcoming World Juniors.
Not only was McGroarty named to the team, but he got an even bigger honor today. McGroarty was named the captain of Team USA for the tournament.
This essentially confirms McGroarty will be good to go and play when Team USA makes their World Juniors debut. This will give Winnipeg Jets and hockey fans in general an awe-inspiring story to follow throughout the tournament with McGroarty.
