The Winnipeg Jets have been one of the hottest teams in the NHL over the past month and a half. The team has points in 10 straight games and they have won their last four in a row, including their most recent contest against the San Jose Sharks. In the game, new addition Gabe Vilardi scored the game-winning goal on the powerplay.

Vilardi's Dad Reacts To Son Scoring Game Winning Goal

Luckily for Gabe, his dad was in attendance to see him shine as the team is currently on their annual dads trip where the player's fathers join them on the road. The crew at SAP center got Gabe's dad's reaction when he scored what would be the game-winner.

It was a relatively quiet game as the Jets ultimately took down the sharks in a low-event 2-1 victory. The team showed that they can be defensively reliable in front of Connor Hellebuyck, something that has not always been the case. At the same time, the players continue to show that the Jets made a good move with the Pierre-Luc Dubois trade.

Vilardi Outshining Dubois After Blockbuster Trade With LA Kings

The Jets and Kings completed what was arguably the biggest trade of the offseason when Pierre-Luc Dubois was sent to LA in exchange for multiple players and prospects, including none other than Gabe Vilardi. While the 24-year-old center has missed significant time this season due to injury, he's been one of the team's best players since returning to the lineup. He has 8 goals and 16 points on the season in 18 games, far outscoring Dubois on a point-per-game basis.
Dubois on the other hand has just 16 points in 35 games this season, including 7 goals. As it currently stands, Vilardi stands to outscore him on nearly a two to one basis this season.
Gabe Vilardi has 4 points tonight and PLD has 1 point (tonight's point) in his last 7 games. I think VILARDI looks better than DUBOIS on a number 13 Jets jersey TBH!
The Kings are still on track for a long playoff run this season but no doubt they may be having second thoughts about the trade for Dubois.
