Mark Scheifele may wind up being moved to one of the top teams in all of Canada.
Scheifele's Value
Mark Scheifele is arguably the number one trade candidate in all of the NHL. He is currently coming off a 42-goal and 68-point year, Scheifele is clearly a number-one center.
With this, he carries a lot of trade value if the Jets elect to move him. We could see him return a package close to the value of the Pierre-Luc Dubois trade.
Recently, Inside The Rink linked Mark Scheifele to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Mark Scheifele was born in Ontario, Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs could leverage this in their favor to bring in another top-end talent. Do you see this happening?
Scheifele to the Leafs would certainly be game-breaking. With the core four in Toronto and the additions of Tyler Bertuzzi and Max Domi, it appears that the Leafs have plenty of offensive talent.
Could We See This Happen?
There is one true circumstance where Mark Scheifele could head to Toronto and that is the long-term injury to either Auston Matthews or John Tavares. Scheifele could come in and fill their role to a respectable degree if that were to happen.
The Leafs do not have a lot of prospects or picks to give up but if they see an injured Matthews or Tavares coming back come playoff time, Scheifele could be the guy that pushes them over their hump.
