Rumour: NHL team to take big swing at Connor Hellebyuck

Connor Hellebuyck is definitely among the most coveted players in the market. The goalie wants out of Winnipeg, and he could generate an important return for the Jets.

"If Connor Hellebuyck were to become available, don't be surprised if Buffalo took a big swing. One thing that's been heard early this offseason is that the Sabres have interest in him. The Jets would want team-controlled assets in exchange."

Of course, the Jets won't trade him unless the return is exceptional. They're looking for top prospects or picks.

The Sabres have what it takes to get him, but should they pay the price, knowing that Devon Levi is coming?

Levi is extremely promising, and having Hellebuyck on the team could leave him on the bench more often than he should.

The Sabres' core is still young, and they are in no rush to win now. They can still wait a few years before aspiring to win the Cup. Why pay for Hellebuyck when you already have a number one goalie in your organization?
