The Winnipeg Jets came out huge winners in their trade for Pierre-Luc Dubois this past summer, and now it has been revealed what the deal-breaker piece in the trade was for this team.

Without Rasmus Kupari, there was no deal for Winnipeg

While the Jets appear to have won the trade by a mile on the back of Gabriel Vilardi and Alex Iafallo, it's now been revealed just how much they valued young Rasmus Kupari.
According to reports, the Jets made their stance clear when they engaged with the Kings on talks for Dubois, telling the Kings in very simple terms; No Kupari, No deal.

An unknown piece for the red-hot Winnipeg Jets

While Vilardi and Iafallo have been red-hot since joining the Jets, Kupari has dealt with some injury issues, as he has managed to tally just one point in his 18 games with the team.
At 23-years of age however, he has an incredibly bright future, and although his career high at the NHL level is just 15 points, the raw potential is there, so this is a team that believes in Kupari's ability to take the leap. Now however, he just has to stay healthy, and if he can become a regular contributor for this team, this trade will continue looking incredibly lop-sided.
