The Edmonton Oilers have been red-hot as of late, but if they want to take it all the way to a Stanley Cup in 2023-24, it's clear that they still need to make some big moves ahead of the March 8 trade deadline.

Edmonton Oilers personnel take in the Toronto-Detroit game

We've seen the Oilers linked to several defensemen and goaltenders ahead of the March 8 trade deadline, and now they have sparked trade rumours online.
The Oilers have a scout at the #LGRW vs #LeafsForever game tonight, per David Pagnotta.
With several veterans taking part in this game, the Oilers could have been scouting many players, but this won't be the only game they're keeping an eye on.

Edmonton Oilers have many trade needs this season

Like Toronto however, Edmonton needs help on the blue line and in net, so it's tough to exactly pinpoint one or two players that the Oilers would be targeting, but it's now clear they are casting a wide net in what could be a successful season for them.
Over the next few weeks, Edmonton are likely to have their scouts at every possible game, and although they have limited resources to make a move, if they can be wise with what they have, this could be a team that's completely transformed ahead of a Stanley Cup push.
