Scheifele has been a key piece of the Jets lineup for a number of years now, as he has played in 723 games for Winnipeg, tallying 272 goals and 645 points over that time.
However, with the team looking to move on and potentially push for a younger group, the team are ready to move on from him, but that comes with one major condition.
According to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, that one condition will be to find a replacement down the middle, as they've moved off one talented center this summer, so if they trade another, they will need a talented replacement.
Given his experience, there's plenty of teams out there that will be interested in the veteran center, and if the Jets can get another haul for him, there's no doubting that there will be plenty of optimism for the future in Winnipeg.
