After a rough few months early in the season, the Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness received a major honor from the NHL.

Rick Bowness will be among the coaches to be at the NHL All-Star Game in a few weeks.

The Jets have been having a major breakout season, currently at the first spot of the Central Division with a 28-10-4 record. This earned Bowness to be invited to the All-Star game by the NHL!
Scott Arniel, the Jets' assistant-coach, opened up about Bowness, the success that the team has been having this year and the All-Star nomination.
"Great for him. Great honour for him. We've got to tip our hats to the players there, all the things that they've done and how they've played to be where we are in the standings is awesome. And for him, it's a great reward for a guy who's been around the league for this long and I know he's excited to go."
Jets Players Announce to Bowness He's Going to the All-Star Game in the Best Possible Way
After missing games last season due to COVID and a few more games early in the season after his wife had a seizure, Bowness is returned behind the Jets' bench ready to face all adversity.
After the rough year he had, Jets' players wanted to celebrate his All-Star nomination in a great fashion.
Here's how it went down:
"We actually had a chance, the group had a chance, to tell him that he was going. He didn't know it was coming. We had a meeting and put it up on the screen, so he found out. I'm sure he could have done the math, too, and recognized where he was but it was good that the players were all there when he was recognized. That was a nice moment. And he's earned this. Not just this year. He's earned this over his career and certainly he's been through a lot here."
This is a well-deserved honor for Bowness. We wish him all the best going forward.
