The Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness shared unfortunate news regarding Gabe Vilardi.

Rick Bowness Shares Terrible Health Update on Gabe Vilardi

In breaking news, Bowness disclosed that Vilardi was diagnosed with an enlarged spleen. He will not travel with the team for the upcoming five-game trip and there's no timeline concerning his return.
Per Mike McIntyre:
"#NHLJets coach Rick Bowness says Gabe Vilardi has been diagnosed with an enlarged spleen. This is something that recently was discovered. He won't travel with the team for the five-game trip. No timeline on a return. He's getting treatment."

"Per the #NHLJets, the spleen issue with Gabe Vilardi was just diagnosed as part of an ongoing medical evaluation pertaining to a different (undisclosed) issue. So plenty of mystery about the whole situation."
In 38 games this season with the Jets, Vilardi scored 30 points in 38 games. Fans and management will hope to see him back in time for the playoffs.
