Tyler Toffoli was traded to the Winnipeg Jets during the middle of the 2023-24 season and is now likely to leave Manitoba in favor of a southern market per insider Pierre LeBrun.
Today insider Pierre LeBrun published an article regarding the latest on many pending free agents around the NHL. Among these players, Tyler Toffoli of the Winnipeg Jets is likely to be moving on from Winnipeg in favor of a long-term contract elsewhere.
"It's time for the goal machine known as Tyler Toffoli to finally get paid...
...And while he enjoyed his time in Winnipeg after the trade this season, he's headed to market, which is not surprising. Don't the Nashville Predators need offense?" - Pierre LeBrun
Toffoli played well with the Jets in a middle-six role. Through 23 regular season and playoff games with the franchise, Toffoli scored 9 goals and 13 points. This is a 32-goal pace which is consistent to his scoring pace practically everywhere he has gone in the past four years.
While it is unfortunate that the Jets winger will need to move on, he will certainly provide a scoring boost to whichever team lands him and it appears that Nashville is leading the charge thus far.
